Staff Fishing Day at Salford Lakes, Chipping Norton

On the 16th May the Company organised a 'fishing day' at Salford Lakes near Chipping Norton......Dan Masters was first into the fish, getting a rainbow on his second cast on a green caddis.....he had to be tied to a tree for a few hours to stop him emptying the lake....

Nigel Colston, the owner, made us all very welcome and he and his wife provided a brilliant lunch in the fishing hut, and he was on hand all day to give casting lessons and advice to the less experienced anglers...some of whom had never been fishing before!

We were lucky enough to have a superb hatch of mayfly in the early afternoon, with free-rising fish showing all over the lakes.

Results:

Dan Masters 9 fish (weighed in 4 for 8lb 12ox)
Lyndon Barton 4 fish 7lb
Dean Marx 4 fish 6lb 8oz

Overall, a really good day...we all decamped to the local pub for a pint before going home, and will definately be going back to this venue again. Many thanks to Nigel for providing a really good day's fishing. Nigel can be contacted at his website:
