Drilling Boreholes / Ground Source Heating

Our Drilling Teams are trained to the highest standards to form boreholes for sampling, testing and monitoring of all types of ground for geotechnical and geo-environmental assessment. The Company is committed to innovation in drilling techniques and this is evident in the range and versatility of our rigs. We employ some 20 teams of drillers on a full-time salaried basis, and are able to offer:

  • 'Pioneer', 'Pioneer 2' and 'High-Torque' Pioneer rigs. These rigs undertake:
    • Heavy duty dynamic sampling
    • Rotary coring of rock
    • Hollow stem augering
    • Rotary percussive and open hole boring
    • Installation of Ground Source Heating Pump pipework

These rigs are operated by our Drilling Division.

 

  • Terrier rigs
  • 'P45' and 'P60' Slope climbing rigs
  • In situ testing, instrumentation and monitoring

These rigs and services are offered by our Site Services Division. 

We work to high standards with modern and innovative equipment. We can help you select the most appropriate drilling system for your situation, and will liaise with specialist sub-contractors for those drilling or related services which we do not carry out ourselves.

Our Drilling crews are all registered with the CITB and the majority are working towards gaining the NVQ Level 2 in Land Drilling.
