Geoenvironmental Division

The Geoenvironmental Division, managed by Paul Godbold,  comprises two teams of professionals working in the field of geoenvironmental engineering.  Both teams are experienced and can competently evaluate geoenvironmental risks, to support the acquisition, divestiture and pre-development of brownfield and greenfield sites. 

Team 1: This team is managed by Tracy Griffiths, and generally deals with Phase 1 and 2 investigations, National Grid, Multi-national consultants, remediation schemes,

Team 2: Generally dealing with geoenvironmental desk studies and investigations, IPPC, local clients, architects and surveyors. This team is managed by Claire Morton.

Other services offered by our Teams include:

 

  • Design and execution of ground investigations following guidance defined in BS5930:1999 and BS10175:2001
  • Installation of groundwater monitoring wells, with monitoring and sampling of soil gas and groundwater
  • Execution of appropriate chemical testing, determined from previous land-use and reference to CLR8 and DoE Industry Profiles, at an UKAS and MCERTS Accredited Laboratory
  • Mapping of contaminant plumes
  • Preparation of factual and interpretative reports
  • Human health risk assessment
  • Groundwater risk assessment
  • Liaison with Regulatory Authorities to facilitate development proposals
  • Preparation and implementation of remediation strategies , utilising modern and innovative techniques, including ex-situ and in-situ bioremediation and more conventional engineering methods
  • Providing services under the Integrated Pollution and Control (IPPC) regime, from the compilation of Application Site Reports (ASRs) through to the design and implementation of Site Protection and Monitoring Programmes (SPMPs)
