Andrew grew up with the family firm, and could draw a stegosaurus from an early age. School and university holidays were spent working on the drilling rigs or in the soils laboratory. After qualifying as a civil engineer, he worked on various construction sites abroad, before returning to the UK to take an MSc in Soil Mechanics at Imperial College. He joined the company again in 1986 as a geotechnical engineer, and took over as Managing Director in 1994. 

As the company has grown, he has become a ‘jack of all trades’, but is enjoying the challenges of the role, and is hoping to lead the Company onwards and upwards for many years yet.
